DMK Alkaline Wash is a professional chemical depilation treatment designed to reduce fine vellus hair and refine overall skin texture. During treatment, the skin’s pH is temporarily elevated to create a controlled alkaline environment. This softens and dissolves the vellus hair shaft while influencing the superficial follicular opening. With repeated sessions, this process progressively weakens fine hair growth, supporting reduced density and slower regrowth over time. Because the hair is not cut bluntly at the surface, regrowth does not feel coarse or stubbly.
It is important to clarify that Alkaline Wash is designed specifically for vellus hair reduction. It does not permanently eliminate deeper terminal hair, as those follicles sit lower within the dermis beyond the reach of topical alkaline treatment. In cases of coarse, hormonally influenced or deeply rooted hair growth, laser or electrolysis may be more appropriate and can be used alongside Alkaline Wash where clinically indicated.

Facial skin is not a flat, uniform surface; it contains natural variations in contour, density and texture. Mechanical removal techniques depend heavily on pressure, angle and operator control, which can result in variable exfoliation across different facial zones. In contrast, the alkaline solution distributes evenly over the treatment areas, allowing consistent action irrespective of skin topography. This supports a more uniform finish while reducing the risk of irritation associated with repetitive scraping or surface trauma. In addition to the progressive reduction of fine vellus hair, the treatment helps refine texture, enhance product penetration, and improve follicular clarity for a smoother, more balanced complexion.
