Eye Treatments – How to achieve youthful eyes

Eye Treatments - How to achieve youthful eyes

Let’s talk about eyes and eye treatments! Do you ever think that long gone are the days when you used to look in the mirror, and your mascara was sitting on your eyelashes rather than your eyelids? I know I do! I could happily wear eyeliner and mascara that didn’t end up halfway down my cheeks, and I’d never really heard of an undereye concealer until I was in my late twenties, let alone had one! Now my make-up bag seems to be overflowing with all kinds of make-up products to assist in making the eyes appear better, but realistically these are superficial quick fixes; they don’t get to the root of the problem or change it.

Every day in my salon, I hear the questions, “Oh Bev, how can I make my eyes less wrinkly, I’m looking so old?” or “My eyes are so dark, even my concealer won’t cover the shadows, what can I do?”

So what can you do?

Firstly, we have to consider that the skin around the eye is five times thinner than on the rest of the face; we have twenty-two periorbital muscles working continuously in the eye area, deepening those expression lines. As we age, our lymphatic drainage isn’t as good as it used to be, so we can accumulate fluid under the eye and suffer from dark circles caused by circulatory issues and pigmentation. Finally, we lose volume in our skin, so our eyelids start to weigh heavily. (Once upon a time, this would only happen when I was tired, noticeable after a good night out, but these days, I can’t even say it is because of that! I’m just feeling old!).

I perform a powerful in-clinic treatment called Lumi Eyes that I thoroughly recommend for treating the eye area, which will assist in tightening and subtly lifting and firming the skin around and under the eye. It can also gently lift the eyelids, reduce pigmentation, reduce eye bags and puffiness, and restore radiance and hydration. This is not a filler! but the results are very similar and is one of my most popular treatments to perform. It is very easily tolerated and there are only three treatments in a course.

We should also use professional eye creams/gels to enhance the eye area’s repair, structure, and texture and to provide continual maintenance. I am often heard saying to clients, “I can improve your areas of concern with in-clinic treatments. However, I strongly suggest you consider using my recommended medical-grade eye creams to assist with the treatments, as what you apply to your eyes twice daily will give you the VERY BEST results.”

Four of my best selling result-driven cosmeceutical eye products are…. (although not limited to…):
