Improve your skin in 2024 with my top tips!
I had a very busy party season at the end of the year, but much of it was spent working with you lovely ladies, and less of the partying. Many of you made an active effort to take care of your skin last year and may have read some of my previous blog posts and followed my advice. So to kick start the new year and welcome in 2024, I want to share how you can have better skin health this year, and let’s start as we mean to go on! 😁
If you are reading this, the chances are you already have a skincare regime of some form and have a keen interest in taking care of your skin, which is a great start. However, the difference to your skin when you have a skin routine guided and supported by a professional such as myself is huge! What a skincare specialist like me can provide you with in regard to treatments can really improve your skin and accelerate your skin health and regime to new heightened levels.
Here are some ways to have better skin health this year.

Book in for a skin consultation with me. I know this first one may seem obvious, but I do know my stuff when it comes to skin. Each and every one of you is unique and therefore your skin and its needs are going to be unique too. Having a consultation with me where I can feel and look at your skin, and discuss your routine, your products and lifestyle, will help me create a tailor-made routine for you, that will help improve your overall skin health.
Include regular tailor-made treatments as part of your routine. Having regular skin treatments which are targeted directly at your skin health will have huge benefits. Whether that is a monthly bespoke facial, a DMK enzyme treatment, skin boosters, mesotherapy or microneedling, to name but a few! Just having those bespoke treatments will help improve any problem areas such as dehydration, pigmentation, or fine lines and wrinkles performed regularly, will improve your skin’s overall health and appearance.
Use products which are designed to work with your skin. There are so many products out there that it can be hard to know which ones to choose, (but I have most of the answers to this one!). One of the most common skin issues is an impaired barrier function, it can cause all sorts of issues from dry flaky skin, to irritation and redness and an uneven skin tone, and plenty more besides! By repairing the skin’s barrier function correctly, not only does the skin’s appearance look better, but it will be much healthier too.
Protect your skin all year round. I know I’ve said it before, but I will say it again, SPF isn’t just for summer, you should be wearing it all year round. It is much easier to protect your skin and prevent skin irritations and issues from happening than to try and treat them and fix them after the damage has taken place. Find a really good quality SPF and put it on every day. I have some excellent SPF’s available on my website that I would recommend, check them out here;Sun Protection
Skip regular exfoliation. This may come as a surprise to you as you may have read or been told a hundred times that exfoliators are good for your skin as they clear dead skin cells and give your skin that ‘glow’ 😇. Yes, you might have that glow immediately after or even for a few days. However, your skin will then dull due to the loss of moisture that you have caused. Your dead skin cells are there for a reason otherwise we wouldn’t have them. They are there to protect your immature cells underneath until they are mature enough to protect you from harm (such as pollution, bacteria, dirt and UV rays). You see, if you constantly strip these dead skin cells away, then your skin can’t do its job and protect you, by that point, you are just left with an impaired barrier function and even more dehydration. When you have great skin health your skin will glow naturally, it’s not about regularly removing every dead skin cell you have to achieve it.
Supplement your skin. Remember, no topically applied skincare product in the world, NOT ONE, can reach the dermis – where the skin feeds from; it can only be achieved internally or in-clinic with electrical treatments or injections, where the product can reach the dermis at that point. If you have any skin condition at all, or even if you don’t but you would like even better skin, then taking good quality oral supplements should be a vital part of your skin care regime. You will see better and quicker results in your skin using oral supplements alongside professional skincare. Take a look at the range of Advanced Nutrition Programme supplements that can help you.
If you want to make 2024 the year to improve your skin and have your skin health take priority, then book a FREE in-clinic consultation with me or an online consultation, and let’s get you started on your journey to skin care and skin health.
